Thank You so very much for the helpful info.. I have recently started drinking Pomegranate juice and pour it over ice to help dilute it! It is supposed to help remove toxins. IS there something that would work better? I have just been diagnosed and I also have RSD/CRPS, full body, which does include vulvodynia. So I have chronic pain 24/7. Any suggestions, such as these in your video are of a great help!
ICN RESPONSE: There are no "toxins" to remove in IC patients. IC is more of an injury to the bladder and drinking any juice that is high in acid or alkalinity is probably going to irritate you much more and trigger IC symptoms. The best things that you can drink, particularly when your bladder is symptomatic, is water or milk. For fruit juices, you can try a pear or blueberry juice! Personally, I think pomegranate juice is WAY too harsh for most IC bladders, even when diluted and it could be contributing to your pain and discomfort. - Jill

When havin a IC flare, is it possible for you lower back and also legs to hurt? I am on Elmiron 100mg, and have been on it for almost 4 months. I've noticed some improvement but not alot. I am also on Cysta Q. Would you suggest something else that would help! Thanks so much.
ICN RESPONSE: Yes, your lower back and/or upper legs can hurt during a flare, sometimes from referred pain and other times from muscle tension. Remember, too, that it takes time for the bladder to respond to therapies and that diet modification is vital. You're wasting your time if you're still drinking coffees, sodas, etc. etc. If you'd like to talk, explore options, etc.. please call our support line at 707-538-9442 or, better yet, sign up for a coaching session!

I find, as Jill said in the video, that diluted baby pear or apple juice is very bladder friendly - I normally stick with water or milk but occasionally have these as a treat.
